Students can expect a style based on intentional movement with an emphasis on active stretching and strength engagement, with plenty of options for more passive-style stretches at the practitioner’s discretion. There are as many yoga practices as there are yoga practitioners: I love holding a space for each student’s personal style. As I serve as a guide with my own offerings, I welcome students to feel autonomous in their choices of movement throughout class. We’ll listen to anything from D’Angelo, to Stevie Nicks, to The Boss. I love sharing Dharma talks that connect us from our mats to the world around us and our role in the communities we form a part of.
One of the greatest gifts Yoga gives us is the ability to define for ourselves what the metrics for success are: it doesn’t matter what shapes you make, or how “well” you perform something; rather, it is about mindful practice. A Hudson County native, she received her MA in Spanish/Latin American Literature and Cultural Studies from NYU Madrid and has a background in education. She loves a good classic rock cover band down at the Jersey Shore, Tarot cards, and the rain.
